Your 4 Day Venice & Beyond Itinerary
Over four days, you’ll experience both the famous landmarks of Venice and some of the quieter places that surround it. From canal-lined streets and historic palaces to lagoon islands and the vineyards of the Veneto countryside, this itinerary combines culture, local traditions, and scenic landscapes while your private driver-guide takes care of the logistics throughout.
Day 1: Venice Arrival & Historic Center

- Private airport boat transfer
- Grand Canal arrival
- Rialto Bridge
- Historic center walk
- Evening canal time
Day 1 description
You’ll be met at the airport by your guide and brought into Venice by private boat, entering the city along the Grand Canal. You’ll have beautiful views on approach, with buildings rising directly from the water.
After checking into your accommodation, your tour begins with your guide taking you through the historic center. You’ll pass through narrow streets, small squares, and canals on the way to Rialto Bridge, one of the oldest bridges in Venice. It’s also one of the best viewpoints in Venice, with stunning scenes over the Grand Canal.
Continue along the canal edges and smaller crossings, with time to stop at cafés or shops as you go. In the evening, enjoy your first dinner in Venice with classic dishes such as risotto, seafood, or cicchetti at a local restaurant by the water. Our local team would be happy to recommend authentic Italian restaurants we love!
Day 2: St Mark’s Square & Venice Landmarks

- St Mark’s Square
- St Mark’s Basilica
- Doge’s Palace
- Bridge of Sighs
- Walking through central Venice
Day 2 description
Start your 2nd day exploring St Mark’s Square, the main open space in the city. From here, visit St Mark’s Basilica, where the interior is detailed with mosaics and high ceilings, followed by the Doge’s Palace, which connects directly to the political history of Venice.
After the palace, walk past the Bridge of Sighs and continue through the surrounding streets, crossing small bridges and following the canals, with time to stop at cafés along the way.
Spend the rest of the day walking through central Venice, moving between busy areas and quieter streets before returning to your accommodation.
Day 3: Murano & Burano Islands

- Private boat transfer
- Murano glass workshops
- Burano canals and houses
- Island walking
- Lagoon views
Day 3 description
Leave Venice by private boat and head out into the Venetian Lagoon to visit two nearby islands.
The first stop is Murano, a separate island known for its glassmaking. Visit a working glass workshop where pieces are shaped by hand using traditional methods, then spend time walking along the canals and through the quieter streets.
Continue by boat to Burano, another island in the lagoon, known for its brightly coloured houses. The buildings line the canals in rows of different colors, making it one of the most recognizable places in the area. Walk through the streets, with time to stop at small shops or cafés.
Return to Venice by boat in the afternoon, crossing the lagoon back towards the city.
Day 4: Veneto Countryside & Departure

- Private transfer out of Venice
- Prosecco region drive
- Vineyard visit
- Wine tasting
- Airport transfer
Day 4 description
On your final day, your private guide takes you out of Venice once again, crossing onto the mainland and heading into the Veneto countryside.
The route takes you into the Prosecco region, an area of rolling hills covered in vineyards where Italy’s Prosecco wine is produced. This part of the trip feels very different from Venice, with open landscapes, small towns, and quiet roads.
Stop at a local vineyard, where you’ll see how Prosecco is made and take part in a tasting of wines from the region. There is time to walk around the vineyard and take in the views across the surrounding hills.
After time in the countryside, you’ll have a private transfer to the airport for your flight home.
