After arriving in Rome, your private guide will meet you and transfer you into the city to begin your time in Italy. Once checked into your accommodation, head out into the historic center for an easy introduction to Rome.
Walk through some of the city’s best-known areas including Piazza Navona, the Pantheon district, and the smaller streets surrounding the historic center. Along the way, your guide will help introduce the layout and history of the city while pointing out churches, cafés, fountains, and important landmarks.
The evening is left fairly relaxed after your arrival, giving you time to settle in, enjoy dinner, and experience Rome at night.

Today is focused on Vatican City and some of the most important religious sites in the Catholic world. Begin the morning at St Peter’s Basilica, where your guide will take you through the church and explain its history, artwork, and role within the Vatican.
Continue into the Vatican Museums, passing through long gallery halls filled with paintings, sculptures, tapestries, maps, and historic collections before reaching the Sistine Chapel.
After time inside the Vatican, spend the afternoon around St Peter’s Square and the surrounding streets before returning to your accommodation later in the day.
Day 3: Rome’s Major Basilicas

Today your private guide will take you between several of Rome’s most important basilicas and Christian landmarks. Begin at St John Lateran, the official cathedral church of Rome, before continuing to the nearby Holy Staircase.
Later, continue to Santa Maria Maggiore, one of the four major papal basilicas in Rome and one of the most important churches in the Catholic world. Inside, you’ll see historic mosaics, chapels, and detailed ceilings before continuing with your private guide to St Paul Outside the Walls, another of Rome’s four major papal basilicas, built over the traditional burial site of St Paul.

Day 4: Ancient Christian Rome & Trastevere

Today focuses on some of the older Christian sites connected to the early history of Rome. Begin outside the city center along the Appian Way, where your guide will take you to visit the ancient catacombs used by early Christians.
After time exploring underground passageways and burial chambers, return toward the center of Rome and continue into Trastevere. Visit Santa Maria in Trastevere and walk through the surrounding neighborhood, known for its churches, small streets, local cafés, and quieter atmosphere compared with other parts of the city.
The rest of the afternoon stays flexible depending on your interests and energy levels.
Day 5: Rome to Assisi

This morning, leave Rome behind and travel north into Umbria with your private guide in your Mercedes V-Class. The drive passes countryside, hill towns, vineyards, and smaller villages before arriving in Assisi.

There will also be time to stop for coffee, lunch, or short breaks between visits.
